Design Academy Eindhoven

The design academy’s educational system differs from other educational institutions’. The academy offers four years at Bachelors’ level, in eight different design directions: man and living; man and communication, man and well-being, man and leisure; man and mobility; man and identity; man and activity; and man and public space. Alongside that all students follow a programme focused on overall design issues.

At post-graduate level, the Academy offers courses in two directions: man and humanity, and conceptual design in context.

When plaudits are bestowed upon the design platform Droog Design or designers like Marcel Wanders, Hella Jongerius or Maarten Baas, it is often overlooked abroad, and even here in the Netherlands, that something precedes this generally accepted characterisation.
